The labs your doctor doesn't order — and the answers they reveal. Watch the videos below to understand each test before you decide.
Contact Andrea About Lab Testing →Conventional labs use wide, population-based reference ranges. These ranges often represent the average health of the population getting tested at that specific lab. Consequently, a person can be "in range" and labeled healthy, even if they feel awful or are trending toward a chronic illness.
"I use these panels not to replace your doctor's work — but to fill in the gaps they can't see. Every panel I order gives us a clearer picture of what's driving your specific situation."
— Andrea Zajac, RDNThe most comprehensive gut microbiome test available. The GI-MAP (Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus) uses quantitative PCR technology to identify exactly what's living in your gut.
This single test can detect H. pylori, parasites, opportunistic bacteria, candida, mold, viruses, and markers of gut inflammation and barrier function — all from one stool sample.
DUTCH stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. It's the most complete hormone map available — far beyond what a standard blood draw reveals.
While standard labs measure hormone levels at one point in time, DUTCH captures hormone metabolites across an entire day — showing not just how much hormone you have, but how your body is processing and clearing it.
Poor nutrition contributes to nearly every chronic disease — yet most people have no idea exactly what their body is missing at the cellular level. The Metabolomix+ by Genova Diagnostics provides a more complete nutritional assessment than anything standard labs offer.
Personalized recommendations for amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, digestive support, and other nutrients are provided. Testing can also reveal toxic exposures and measure your body's ability to neutralize those toxins.
The benefits of nutritional balance include healthy weight, mental wellness, disease prevention, and increased energy. Best of all — this test can be collected completely in the comfort of your own home.
A CGM is a small wearable sensor that measures your blood glucose every few minutes — for 14 days. It creates a complete picture of how your body responds to food, stress, sleep, and exercise in real time.
Most people are shocked by what they discover. Foods marketed as "healthy" can spike blood sugar dramatically in one person and barely affect another. CGM removes the guesswork and lets us personalize your nutrition plan based on your actual metabolic response.
Your genes don't determine your destiny — but they do influence how your body processes nutrients, responds to different diets, and manages inflammation. Nutrigenomics helps us work with your biology, not against it.
This is a one-time test. Your DNA doesn't change — so the insights you gain are useful for life.
I don't order labs for the sake of ordering labs. Every panel I recommend is based on your specific symptoms and goals.
Your 90-minute appointment includes a full review of your health history, symptoms, and existing labs. From there I'll recommend the right panels for you — not a blanket order.
I'll send your lab order directly through the lab company. Most tests are done at home — a kit arrives by mail, you collect the sample, and ship it back. Results take 1–3 weeks depending on the panel.
We review your results together in a follow-up appointment. I translate the clinical findings into clear, actionable nutrition strategies — no confusing lab-speak, just a real plan.
All lab panels are ordered directly through Andrea's practice. Book an appointment and we'll figure out exactly which ones are right for you.
